Festive Films to Get You Ready for Christmas*
Ok, I know it’s not December yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about Christmas, right? I’m already getting a festive feel when out and about, whether it’s seeing gifts in the shops or the Christmas decorations adorning town centres. With that in mind, I’m thinking it’s acceptable to start off the Christmas blog posts. What better way to do that than with some festive films.
No doubt we all have a list of movies that are a must-watch this time of year. I love cosying up in front of the TV in my pyjamas when it’s cold outside. A mug of tea or hot chocolate wouldn’t go amiss either. Of course, to really set the experience off, you need a good TV such as the 4K LED TV by Panasonic. After all, Christmas is an aesthetically pleasing time of year, from the bright reds and greens, to delicate snowflakes. These should be shown on a great TV to get the most out of your festive film viewing.
My Favourite Festive Films
Soooo let’s take a look at some fabulous Christmas movies (well, in my opinion). I will confess now that I am a bit of a romantic, so these do all fit the romcom description, but I also love the classics such as Elf, The Grinch and Home Alone.
Love Actually
Do I even need to explain to this one? I think it has to be one of the best Christmas films EVER! I can watch it over and over again and not get bored. Each storyline is so strong, and I love how they all intertwine. You have to watch this more than once just to work out all the connections. The perfect excuse for multiple Love Actually viewings. Plus, Hugh Grant dancing will forever be iconic.
The Holiday
If you’re in the mood for a good classic romcom full of charm, then The Holiday is a no brainer. It’s so sweet and the relationships between the characters are adorable.
Bridget Jones’ Diary
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the world of Bridget Jones, the annual turkey curry buffet, and Mark Darcy and Bridget in extravagant Christmas jumpers. Hilarious and heart-warming, it’s no surprise there are two more films in this franchise, all on the watchlist.
Stuck in Love
You may not have heard of this one, as it’s a smaller independent film, but it is one of my all-time favourites, and if you haven’t seen it, then go and watch it now! It’s more of a Thanksgiving film, than a Christmas one, but there’s ice skating and presents in the film which is good enough for me. Plus I wanted an excuse to mention it. As romantic movies go, it’s not some cheesy chick flick and is a quality film with fantastic performances and a great soundtrack, with many songs now featuring on my Spotify playlist.

I love christmas movies. LoVe actually and The holiday are two of my favourites to watchnij the run up to christmas. I actually went and bought my fsvourite movie set of the sanata clause tomdy just so i can be in the christmas mood. These are a Great Selection of movies. Thanks for the other recommendationS.

I have been watching movies from hallmark and netflix. I am a sucker for these tv movies. i also like the 90s movie mom for Christmas. listening to the title song right now.

It’s never too early for Christmas films! I’ve never seen The Holiday or Stuck in Love. I can’t wait to watch them and get into the Christmas spirit.

Oooh lots of good films to get you in the mood for christmas. I love the Bridget Jones films, love actually and the holiday! You’ve picked some good ones. I like to watch the Meg Ryan movies like When Sally Met Harry, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve got Mail. Idk what it is about those films…they just have that vibe about them. I like to watch old hollywood films as well, one of my favourites being Meet me in St Louis.

I dont usually watch these kind of romance holiday movies although one year i did watch the holiday which i enjoyed!

I love a good festive film, for me though not the romantic but the classics such as Elf and Polar Express. I can not wait for christmas, i’m soo excited and can’t wait to spend time with family watching films.
