July 2019 Bullet Journal Setup | Plan with Me
After thinking time passed at a normal speed in May, June has disappeared in the blink of an eye. July sees some big changes including moving into my new flat in Leeds ready for my final year of university in September and the arrival of a motorcaravan at home. Hoping to get some use out of that before summer is over! Going on the theme of changes, I decided to switch up my July 2019 bullet journal setup from my usual layouts.
Theme
I had actually started designing a blue ocean spread, but had a disaster highlighter leak, so had to start over! Given that I wasn’t 100% happy with how the previous version looked anyway, I decided to have a complete rethink.
July marks a year since I started my bullet journal, so I thought I would pay homage to my first spread with some plants. I saw these gorgeous minimalist palm trees on Pinterest and as they are easy to draw, decided to incorporate them into the design.
I also loved this summer quote on Pinterest and as July’s theme is palm trees, it was perfect.
Calendar
I think this is my favourite calendar page I’ve ever done. I’m so happy with the way it turned out.
I used Amanda Rach Lee as inspiration and moved my goals page to my calendar and it helps to fill an otherwise awkward space.
As July 2019’s bullet journal setup is very minimal, the quote “There is beauty in simplicity” was fitting. What’s more, it’s the simple things which I enjoy most about summer. The sea, sun, spending time with family.
Weekly Spreads
I have been using my bullet journal a lot more in June and my usual single page weeks are proving to be too small.
I chose to do a double page for each week as a result. I love all the bullet journal designs on Pinterest where the day titles are highlighted and decided to use that as inspiration for the weekly spread.
Each spread has a notes section at the top. I find this to be easier to use, as before with one bigger notes section per month, I was constantly turning the pages to make notes.
As July finishes on a Wednesday this year, I was able to add my usual blog post ideas section on the single page next to the final week.

I love your theme for the month! It’s so cute with the palms and yet still easy and convenient to use. Bullet journaling is a lot of fun and half if that fun is coming up with themes every month I think!
